What Makes Super Compost "Super"?

We talk a lot about Super CompostSF60. What really makes it "Super" compared to everyday compost?

It all about what's in the compost and the impact each part of the mix has on soil microbes, roots and soil fertility.

We talk about each component and what it does in our earlier blog. Today we offer a pie chart view!

What makes super compost super

Compost - articles of partially decomposed organic matter (POM). This is what almost all compost is.

c. Humus - colloidal humus. Our term for the material that is dark-brown or black is sticky (colloidal), hold 5-9 times own weight in water and has a high CEC capacity (i.e. hold nutrients). Our assertion is that this is the fundamentally most important part of fertile soil.

BC - biochar made by the pyrolysis wood.

Nut's - abbreviation for nutrients. These include the well known primary nutrients nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus (NKPs) and the secondary nutrients (calcium, magnesium, iron, etc).
