 What is it used for and how?

Incorporating into Soil

• New Beds & Containers: Blend compost into the root zone before planting to give roots the best start.

• Established Beds: Gently loosen soil and work the compost in to a depth of 6–8 inches.

• How Much to Use: Aim for a 15–20% mix by volume for most soils.

Potting Mixes

• Blending In: Mix compost with regular potting soil to create a moisture-holding, nutrient-rich medium.

• Suggested Ratios: Use 10–15% compost, adjusting based on your plant’s appetite and soil type.

It is important to dig (or hoe) Biochar Super Compost (SF60) into the root zone. 
SF60 can be stored in a cool dry place. Avoid direct sun and drying out.
By improving fertility, water retention, nutrient availability, and soil structure, it helps produce healthier plants, better vegetables, and stronger crops — all in a sustainable, environmentally friendly way.
 
The results of a case study run by Tony Callaghan:  
Originally formulated by Tony Callaghan, founder of SoilFixer, In our Biochar Super Compost (SF60) tests,  has shown impressive results. In early trials documented in a 2016 blog, Tony recorded up to a 100% increase in plant and crop growth compared to untreated soil.
While plant growth testing is complex and results vary over time and conditions, long-term use of SF60 — especially with regular annual applications — delivers cumulative improvements to soil health. Most users can conservatively expect around a 20% boost in growth, leading to lusher plants and tastier vegetables.

To further enhance performance, we’ve recently added composted wood chip, which supports beneficial woody fungi and improves soil aeration — giving your plants the structure and microbial support they need to thrive.
