Sustainability at SoilFixer
Our Approach
Sustainability is at the core of SoilFixer. Through the use of biochar and regenerative soil practices, we are committed to improving soil health, supporting ecosystems, and contributing to a more resilient environment.
Our approach focuses on working with natural processes to create long-term, sustainable results for both soil and plant health.
Peat-Free Products
Peatlands are one of the most important natural carbon stores on the planet.
At SoilFixer, we are committed to protecting these ecosystems. All of our products are 100% peat-free, helping to reduce environmental damage and preserve vital carbon reserves.
Restoring Soil Health
Modern soils are often depleted, compacted, and lacking in organic matter.
Our farm in Surrey is transitioning towards regenerative practices. By incorporating biochar compost into the land and monitoring organic matter levels over time, we are actively improving soil structure and fertility.
Our biochar-based products are designed to:
- Improve soil structure
- Increase water retention
- Support beneficial soil biology
Circular and Sustainable Thinking
We operate with a closed-loop, circular approach to sustainability.
- Sustainably sourced biomass is converted into biochar through pyrolysis
- All biomass is sourced locally within 20 miles of our Surrey-based farm
- Carbon is returned to the soil rather than released into the atmosphere
- Nutrients are retained within the soil system instead of being lost
This approach reduces waste and maximises environmental benefit at every stage.
Our approach aligns with leading sustainable agriculture practices in the UK.
Looking Ahead
Our long-term sustainability goals are to:
- Continue reducing our environmental footprint and move towards becoming carbon negative
- Increase our positive impact on soil health and climate
- Support the transition to more sustainable and regenerative growing practices
